Claude Monet's Paintings
The French painter Claude Monet is the undisputed leader of the Impressionist art movement, Monet's paintings are recognized as the purest examples of this style. Their relevance is reflected in the price of his oil painting "Le bassin aux Nympheas", which was sold in London 2008 for 40.9 million pounds.
Monet established the foundations of modern art. The propouse of his brush was not to communicate a story or give moral instruction to the viewer, rather than that, the main goal was to make impressions on the canvas to play with the feelings experienced by the eye. The pointillist brush strokes in his paintings were the beginning of modern pictorial art.
